Thank you for visiting my website. I have been a practicing trial lawyer or, more fomally, criminal attorney, since 1982. I started my career with a law firm that gave me a tremendous amount of experience as a trial lawyer in the courtroom. I then decided I could run my practice much better and represent my clients much better if I had control over the things that made for a winning case, and it has definitely worked for my clients; for example, L.S, one of my former clients wrote

I opened my own practice in 1985 although I have been practicing since 1982 spending my time in all the courts of Los Angeles County including Hollywood, Beverly Hills, East Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale, Burbank, Van Nuys, San Fernando, Lancaster, Santa Monica, Torrance, Long Beach, Norwalk, Compton, Downey, Whittier, El Monte, Alhambra, West Covina, Pomona as well as Federal Court.   I have been practicing in Los Angeles County since then and have expanded my representation of clients to San Bernardino County  in such areas as Rancho Cucamonga, and Fontana. The focus of my practice is representing those accused of criminal acts ranging from murder, manslaughter, rape spousal abuse, robbery, burglary, extortion, drugs, gangs and sex cases to DUI and all misdemeanors. I also represent those accused of misconduct and criminal acts in administrative hearings before the Medical Board of California and in DMV administrative hearings involving license and medical issues.

Results

1. I obtained an acquittal (not guilty verdict) in a hotly contested home invasion robbery case where my African American client was facing upwards of 26 years in the state prison.



2. I obtained a hung jury (mistrial) in a first degree murder case out of the Pomona Court, Los Angeles County even though my client admitted she walked into the bar with a 10” kitchen knife and repeatedly stabbed another woman to death.



3. I obtained an acquittal (not guilty verdict) in an alleged hit and run case out of the San Bernardino Court where there was testimony from an off duty police officer and his wife that my client hit them and kept going.



4. I obtained an acquittal (not guilty verdict) in d DUI case of the Needles Court where they alleged my client’s blood alcohol level was over .12.



5. I obtained an acquittal (not guilty verdict)of DUI charges in a DUI case of the Burbank Court, Los Angeles County where they alleged my client’s blood alcohol level was over .08.



6. I convinced the District Attorneys Office in Riverside to dismiss a DUI charge against my client even though he chose a blood test and it showed he had a blood alcohol content of over .20.



7. After almost a two week trial in a DUI case out of the Alhambra Court in Los Angeles County I obtained a mistrial (hung jury)  for my client on a alleged charge he was driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more. The District Attorney then dismissed the charge.



8. I obtained a dismissal of a Hit and Run charge against my elderly client out of the Van Nuys Court of Los Angeles County.



9. I obtained an administrative set aside (win) against the DMV out of the San Bernardino Drivers Safety Office in a case out of Victorville where my client admitted drinking before driving and the blood alcohol test showed he was driving with a blood alcohol level of .o8 or more.



10. I convinced a Judge in Los Angeles County to reinstate my client on probation instead of sending her to state prison for 2 years for not paying fines but instead taking a cruise to Mexico.



11. I carved  out a plea bargain agreement with the District Attorney’s Office in Bakersfield where they agreed to drop multiple charges against my African American client relating to an alleged assault and battery on several Caucasian police officers for a single misdemeanor disturbing the peace count. This is a case where I won several “Pitchess Motions” allowing me to access the personnel records of several of the officers who claimed that my client assaulted them.



12.  I represented a homeless man who’s driver’s license had been taken from him by the DMV alleging medical reasons. I was able to convince the DMV to return license to my client.



13. I obtained an administrative set aside (win) against the DMV in a case where my Hispanic client was arrested for refusing to submit to a blood alcohol test (refusal)and the DMV was about to take his license away for 1 year (his only means of transportation) when I convinced them they could not because my client could not speak English and at the time he was detained by the police they failed to provide a Spanish speaking officer. Therefore, he did not understand what the English speaking officer was talking about. His license was immediately returned.
    

When needed, I can be an aggressive attorney. I am aggressive but I temper that with always putting the needs of my clients first. A good criminal lawyer should always put the needs of his clients first, always protecting his or her constitutional rights. So, if it is in my client's best interest not to be aggressive, I am not. You get more with honey than with vinegar. My clients always come first.

I give close personal attention to each and every client. I will work closely with family and friends for the payment of fees and visit my clients when and where they need me, whether that be at their home or in jail.
